I am Sierra Willenburg, a product design and UX pro with over 11 years of experience working on SaaS products, websites, and apps. I’m passionate about helping people build better products that support their business, and more importantly, their users.
I believe in a human-centered approach to just about everything – when we help our fellow creatures, we make a better world for all of us.
When I’m not at work, I’m usually tending my over 80 houseplants, knitting, felting, sewing, or admiring my beautiful gray cat. I also enjoy skiing and hiking, and occasionally surf.
With over 3 years of experience managing a UX design team, I am ready to take your UX practice to the next level. My most important responsibility as a leader is to ensure my team is empowered and engaged, and their time and work respected.
I ensure my team feels heard, and more importantly, I give them the tools, the space, and the support they need to solve problems.
A few rules I live by:

With degrees in graphic design and new media, and 15 years of experience in print and digital design, I’m equipped to take on projects from concept to final execution. I have a deep understand of visual design principals, coupled with an analytical approach to solving user problems. From journey maps to handoff design specs, I’ve got you covered.

I can help you find out how your user experience is performing, and why. Work with me to measure the impact of your UX design, find the areas of your product that need the most improvement, and uncover the real reasons users love (or hate) your products.

If you’re wondering how UX fits into your company, or how your product can most benefit from UX expertise, I am here to help you uncover the best path for your UX efforts. User experience and product design overlap with so many aspects of a business, and it’s crucial to understand why UX work is needed and where. Which users’ experience do you most need to focus on improving? Are there user groups you’re not yet serving that you’d like to? How do you approach answering these questions, and more importantly, what do you do once you have answers? Let’s figure that out together.

We’re in the era of ops, and UX design and research are no exception. I can help you streamline your project intake, establish processes to provide great work every time, on time, and manage the set up and maintenance of the tools and resources your UX or product design team needs to be successful. With over 3 years of experience managing project assignments, deadlines, deliverables, and tooling, I’m ready to help you streamline your UX work for maximum effect.
